Spokane Skate’s Peace Procession
We’re excited to be rolling together again with Lilac City Roller Derby, following their lead crew to create a vibrant, high-energy skate procession through the heart of Spokane. Please note: for safety and liability reasons, only skaters wearing full gear (helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads) may skate directly with the derby crew.
Our broader group includes both skaters and walkers—all united to show that peace and nonviolence are core to our vision of the future. We’ll be proudly carrying Pride and World Peace flags, and you’re invited to carry a 3×5′ flag throughout the parade if you’d like!
This year, we’re also collaborating with Veterans for Peace, and a few of our walkers will be joining their section of the procession.
After the parade, please meet us to return your flag. We will be hosting the Karaoke for the Pride Festival, so you can drop off the flag poles at the karaoke station.
Event Details:
Here are instructions for this Saturday’s festivities.
Please meet us before 11:15 AM at the parking lot next to the basketball court and skate park on the north side of Riverfront Park. Parking can be challenging, so arriving earlier is often better. You will recognize our group by the pride and peace flags on long poles. We are positioned with Lilac City Roller Derby.
Peace Procession through the Park after the Parade:
For those interested in continuing the peace procession, we will start at the Rotary Fountain and continue for about 3/4 mile through the park, finishing at the Skate Ribbon.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and authentically yourself. This day is all about celebrating you.
Thank you for joining us. Please note that we won’t be able to respond to texts, calls, or messages on the day of the event, so ask any questions you have before Saturday.
